How Do Bowl and Linear Feeders Work Together?
In a typical feeding line, the bowl feeder and the linear feeder perform two complementary tasks. Parts loaded in bulk into the bowl climb along the spiral track through vibration; separators and guides on the track ensure that only correctly positioned parts reach the outlet.
The oriented parts leaving the bowl move onto the linear track. While carrying the parts to the machine’s feed point, the linear track also acts as a buffer: thanks to the queued parts on the track, the machine runs non-stop without waiting for parts.
Matching the vibration settings of the two units is essential for parts to flow smoothly without jamming. The pace of each unit can be set separately with speed control units, and when needed an elevator hopper keeps the part level in the bowl constant.
